PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: September 06th 2026

1. Who I am

This website, https://peoplephotography.store/ (the “Site”), is operated by Moulay Hassan Ouedrhiri, an individual sole trader based in Morocco, and shown on every invoice I issue.

Contact: contact@peoplephotography.store — contact form at https://peoplephotography.store/contact/ — WhatsApp +212 661 399 474. I reply within 24 hours on business days.

I”, “me” and “my” mean the person named above. “You” means the visitor or customer.

2. Scope — please read this first

The Site brings together three things, and only one of them is a contract with me. This matters for refunds, invoices and who to contact when something goes wrong.

E-books (PDF and EPUB) are sold through Payhip. Clicking a buy button takes you to a Payhip page. Payhip Limited (United Kingdom) acts as merchant of record: it is the seller of that transaction, it takes your payment, it applies and remits any VAT due, and it delivers the files. Your purchase contract for the e-book is with Payhip, on Payhip’s terms of service, together with the seller policies I publish on my Payhip store. I remain the author and copyright owner, and the licence in §9 applies to the files however you obtained them.

Printed books are sold by Amazon and IngramSpark. Clicking a print button takes you to their store. Your contract is with that retailer (§7).

One-to-one photo critique sessions are the only thing sold directly by me, through this Site. Sections 8, 10.4 and 11 apply to them, and these Terms are the contract between us.

These Terms also govern your use of the Site itself — browsing, contact forms, reviews and the licence in §9 — whichever route you buy through.

3. Acceptance

By browsing the Site, booking a session or submitting a review you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. You can save or print a copy at any time. The booking checkout displays “By proceeding with your purchase you agree to our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy”; clicking PLACE ORDER confirms that agreement.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding contract. A “Consumer” is an individual acting outside their trade or profession; some clauses below apply only to Consumers and say so.

5. What is offered

A three-volume illustrated course on photographing people — 1,116 pages and more than 2,600 photographs — available as e-books through Payhip and in hardcover and paperback through Amazon and IngramSpark. Plus private one-to-one photo critique sessions delivered by video call.

5.1 Previews. Each book page carries a flipbook preview of the first ten pages. Please use it before buying; it exists precisely so you know what you are getting.

5.2 Authenticity of the images. Every photograph in the books is a genuine photograph of a real person taken on a real shoot. None was generated by artificial intelligence.

5.3 Screen and print variation. Colour and rendering differ between screens, devices and print processes. Minor variation is not a defect.

5.4 Languages. The English and French editions contain identical content. You choose the edition at the point of purchase.

5.5 Scope of the books. The volumes address seeing, composition, connection with your subject and posing. Lighting and retouching are referenced where relevant but are not the subject of the course. No professional camera is required.

6. E-books purchased through Payhip

6.1 Who you are buying from. Payhip is the merchant of record and therefore the seller. Your statutory rights as a Consumer in respect of that sale are exercisable against Payhip, and Payhip’s terms of service and privacy policy govern the checkout. I am the author and licensor, and I handle refunds under §10.1.

6.2 Price and tax. The price shown on the Payhip page is set by me in US Dollars. Payhip determines, displays, collects and remits any VAT, GST or equivalent tax due in your country. The total payable is the total shown at Payhip’s checkout. If you pay in another currency, your bank or card issuer converts at its own rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee, which I neither control nor receive.

6.3 Payment. Payment is taken on Payhip’s systems by Payhip’s payment providers. No card details are stored on this Site and I never see, receive or store them.

6.4 Delivery. Delivery is immediate. As soon as payment clears, download links appear on the confirmation page and are emailed to the address you gave at Payhip’s checkout. Nothing is shipped.

6.5 Both formats. Every e-book purchase includes both the PDF and the EPUB of the title bought. The PDF preserves the exact page layout and is best on tablets, laptops and desktop screens, where the large photographs are seen at their best; the EPUB reflows to fit your screen and suits e-readers and phones.

6.6 Download limit. Links are delivered and hosted by Payhip and permit 6 downloads, which is ample to save the files to your devices. If a link stops working, or you have used all six downloads, write to me at contact@peoplephotography.store within a reasonable period after purchase and I will restore access or send you the files directly, free of charge.

6.7 If nothing arrives. Check spam, promotions and junk folders first; automated delivery mail very often lands there. If nothing has arrived after 15 minutes, send me the email address used and the approximate time of purchase and I will resend the files personally. You will not be charged twice.

6.8 Technical requirements. Files are large — roughly 150 MB per volume per format — because the images are high resolution. You need a compatible device, a reader application, enough free storage and adequate bandwidth; download over Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. PDFs open in virtually any PDF reader, including Apple Books, Adobe Acrobat and Google Drive. EPUBs work with Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo and most e-readers. Kindle users can transfer files using Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. I do not control third-party devices, applications or services and cannot guarantee their behaviour.

6.9 Keep a backup. Once downloaded, the files are yours to keep permanently. Please back them up. Neither I nor Payhip guarantees indefinite re-download availability.

6.10 Bundles. The complete three-volume collection is offered below the price of the three volumes bought separately. The volumes are numbered but not sequential; any one works as a standalone book.

7. Printed books sold by Amazon and IngramSpark

7.1 Printed editions are produced on demand by Amazon and IngramSpark, two of the largest print networks in the world. Clicking a print button takes you to their store, where the sale is concluded directly between you and that retailer. Print-on-demand means your copy is printed in or near your own country, which keeps shipping fast and affordable and generally avoids customs charges — the reason I send you elsewhere to check out.

7.2 They are the seller. The retailer is solely responsible for printing, pricing, taxes, payment, shipping, tracking, delivery estimates, damaged or misprinted copies, returns and refunds. Their terms and privacy policies govern those transactions, not mine.

7.3 I cannot see your order. Because it is placed on their platform, I have no visibility of it and cannot look it up, track, amend, cancel or refund it. Please contact the retailer directly. Do also tell me about any quality problem so I can chase it on the printing side.

7.4 Timing. Production typically takes 2–5 business days plus shipping. The estimate shown by the retailer at checkout is the accurate one.

7.5 Hardcover and paperback. Content, page count and image quality are identical. The hardcover is more durable and lies flatter, which suits a reference book opened repeatedly on set; the paperback is lighter and less expensive. The three-book set is offered at a better price than three individual copies.

7.6 Author royalties — disclosure. These are my own books, published by me. I receive an author royalty on every printed copy sold through these retailers. This is not affiliate marketing, and the price you pay is the retailer’s normal price, unaffected by the link you used.

8. Photo critique sessions — sold directly by me

8.1 What it is. A private, one-to-one video review of your work, live on Zoom or Google Meet, in English or French. Two options: a 30-minute focused review at USD 70, and a 60-minute deep-dive at USD 120, which also covers creative direction, technical choices and where to take your work next.

8.2 Booking and payment. Sessions are booked through the checkout on this Site and paid in advance by PayPal, which also accepts major credit and debit cards without a PayPal account. Payment is processed on PayPal’s systems; no card details are stored on this Site and I never see them. Your slot is confirmed by email with joining details, and an itemised receipt is emailed automatically. Buying a book first is not required — sessions are open to anyone.

8.3 Price and tax. The price is in US Dollars and is the total amount payable. No tax, handling charge or surcharge is added at checkout.

8.4 What you send. At least one week before the session: a link to a recent shoot or a folder of your best work, plus a short email, voice note or call giving me context on where you are and where you want to go. Around 25 images suits a 30-minute session, up to 75 a 60-minute one. Send a coherent body of work rather than only your all-time favourites — recurring patterns are where the real insight lies. If your materials arrive late or not at all, I may still hold the session at the scheduled time and it counts as delivered.

8.5 Rights in your images. You keep all rights in everything you submit. You grant me a limited licence to view, store and discuss it solely in order to deliver your session. I will not publish, share or reuse your images for any other purpose without your separate written permission. You confirm that you own or have permission to share the images, including any model releases required, and that sharing them with me infringes no third-party right.

8.6 Recording. Sessions are recorded and the recording is sent to you afterwards, so you can concentrate on the conversation instead of taking notes. By joining the call you consent to being recorded. If you would rather not be recorded, tell me before we begin and I will not record.

8.7 Nature of the feedback. Feedback is honest, direct and uncompromising, and it is professional opinion rather than fact. It is not a guarantee of any artistic, commercial, competitive or career outcome, and it is not business, legal or financial advice. Decisions you take on the basis of it are your own.

8.8 Rescheduling and cancellation. Reschedule free of charge up to 48 hours before the session. Cancel more than 48 hours in advance and you are refunded in full. Cancel within 48 hours, or fail to attend, and a USD 40 fee applies, with the balance refunded. If I have to cancel or reschedule, you may choose a new slot or take a full refund.

8.9 Conduct. I may end a session without refund in the event of abusive, discriminatory or threatening behaviour.

8.10 Post-session offers. I may offer a discount on the books at the end of a session. It is optional, time-limited and never a condition of anything.

8.11 Mentoring and workshops. Ongoing mentoring, workshops and in-person training are not sold on the Site. Write to me and we will arrange terms separately.

9. Licence and intellectual property

This section applies to the books however you acquired them — Payhip, Amazon or IngramSpark — and to the content of the Site.

9.1 Ownership. All photographs, text, layout, design and trade marks are my property or that of my licensors, protected by Moroccan Law No. 2-00 on copyright and related rights and by international copyright treaties including the Berne Convention. All rights reserved worldwide.

9.2 What your purchase grants. A non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, single-user licence to download, store and read the files on devices you personally own or control, for your own personal or internal professional use. You are buying a licence to use the content, not ownership of it.

9.3 You may. Read the files on your own devices. Print pages for your own reference or to take on a shoot. Share a single page image on social media, provided you credit OUEDRHIRI Moulay Hassan and do not alter or remove any copyright notice or stamp. That kind of sharing helps enormously and is genuinely welcome.

9.4 You may not. Copy, upload, host, post, email, transmit, lend, rent, sell, sublicense or otherwise distribute the files or any substantial part of them; share your download link or file with any other person, including colleagues, students, clients or team members; reproduce any photograph in your own commercial work, portfolio, publication, course or client deliverable; remove or alter any copyright notice, stamp, watermark, metadata or identifying information; use the content or any part of it to train, fine-tune or develop any machine learning or artificial intelligence model or dataset; or attempt to circumvent download limits or protective measures.

9.5 DRM-free, but traceable. The files carry no DRM, so they open on any device and in any application you like. I have kept it that way deliberately — I would rather trust readers than make the books awkward to use. In exchange, purchase and delivery records are retained, and each file may carry a discreet stamp or embedded identifier containing the original purchaser’s details. These measures exist for one purpose only: identifying the source of any file found circulating without authorisation. Their presence and form may change at any time without notice. If an unauthorised copy is traced to your purchase, I may terminate your licence, disable your access, refuse future orders and pursue all available civil and criminal remedies, including recovery of legal costs. How that identifier is handled is explained in §6 of the Privacy Policy.

9.6 Teams, schools and workshops. A single-user licence does not cover studio teams, classes, workshop groups or institutional libraries. Write to me about bulk and site licensing, and about student pricing — I am happy to arrange both.

10. Refunds and right of withdrawal

10.1 A 14-day guarantee on e-books, for everyone. Digital content delivered immediately is normally excluded from statutory withdrawal rights. I nonetheless extend a 14-day right of withdrawal to every e-book customer, worldwide, including after you have downloaded the files. No reason required.

To use it, email contact@peoplephotography.store within 14 days of purchase with your order number and the email address used. Because Payhip is the merchant of record, I authorise and process the refund through my Payhip account; it is returned to your original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days of approval. On withdrawing you must stop using the files and delete all copies from your devices, and your licence under §9 terminates.

10.2 This exceeds what the law requires. Nothing here limits your non-waivable statutory rights as a Consumer under the law of your country of residence, or any right you have directly against Payhip as seller of record.

10.3 Fair use of the guarantee. The guarantee exists so you can buy with confidence from an author you may never have heard of. I reserve the right to refuse a refund, and to decline future orders, where it is abused — for example repeated buy-and-refund cycles across titles, formats or accounts, or evidence that the files were copied, shared or distributed before the request.

10.4 Critique sessions. §8.8 governs rescheduling and cancellation. Consumers in the EU and UK additionally have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the booking itself. That right ends once the session has been fully performed at your request; if you withdraw after the session has begun but before it finishes, I may retain an amount proportionate to what was delivered. Where your session falls inside the 14-day window and you ask me to go ahead, you are asking me to begin performance during that period.

10.5 When I will always put it right. Whenever you contact me, and whatever the timing, I will repair, replace or refund if a file is corrupted, incomplete or will not open; you received the wrong volume, format or language; you were charged twice or in error; or the product materially fails to match its description. For EU Consumers this reflects Directive (EU) 2019/770 on digital content, and for UK Consumers the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Contact me first — I will nearly always fix it the same day.

10.6 After 14 days. Beyond the guarantee period, e-book sales are final, subject always to §10.5.

10.7 Printed books. Returns, replacements and refunds are governed entirely by the returns policy of Amazon or IngramSpark, whichever you ordered from, and are handled by their customer service.

11. Reviews and review request emails

11.1 Two different senders. After a purchase you may receive one automated invitation to leave a review. Which system sends it depends on where you bought.

If you booked a critique session on this Site, the request is sent approximately four days afterwards by the Customer Reviews for WooCommerce plugin running on my Site, and transmitted through my mail provider.

If you bought an e-book on Payhip, the request is sent by Payhip using the email address you gave at its checkout, under Payhip’s own terms and privacy policy.

11.2 Two different opt-outs. Because two systems are involved, opting out of one does not automatically remove you from the other. Each message tells you how to opt out of that sender at no cost. You can always write to contact@peoplephotography.store asking to be removed from review requests altogether, and I will suppress you in both systems.

11.3 Voluntary. Leaving a review is entirely voluntary and is never a condition of any purchase, refund, discount or support. Opting out changes nothing about your purchase, your files or the help you receive. You will still get genuinely transactional messages — receipts, download links, booking confirmations — which are not marketing.

11.4 Frequency. At most one request per order from each system.

11.5 Verified purchasers only. Invitations go solely to the email address attached to a completed order, and reviews are published only from those invitations. I do not solicit reviews from anyone who has not bought.

11.6 No incentives, no suppression. I do not pay for reviews, offer discounts or gifts in exchange for positive ones, write or commission fake reviews, or publish only the favourable ones. Negative reviews are published on exactly the same terms as positive ones.

11.7 Moderation. I may decline to publish, or may remove, a review that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, off-topic, spam or advertising, that contains third parties’ personal data, that infringes intellectual property, or that plainly was not written by the purchaser. I do not edit the substance of a review.

11.8 Licence to publish. By submitting a review you grant me a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, translate, adapt for length or formatting and display it on the Site, in marketing and on social media, together with the display name and location you provide. You confirm it is your own honest opinion based on genuine experience. Please do not include anything you would not want published. You can ask me to remove it at any time.

11.9 Aggregate ratings. Where a star rating is displayed it is the arithmetic average of all published reviews for that product. No filtering, weighting or selective display is applied. Reviews collected on Payhip and reviews collected here may be displayed together; where that happens, the combined average is calculated on the same basis.

12. Acceptable use

Do not use the Site unlawfully; do not attempt unauthorised access to it, to any server or to any download link; do not introduce malware; do not scrape, crawl or systematically extract content; do not circumvent download limits or protective measures; do not impersonate another person. I may suspend or terminate access for breach.

13. Availability and disclaimers

13.1 I aim to keep the Site available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and may suspend, withdraw or restrict it without notice. Availability of the Payhip store, the retailers’ sites and the video platforms is outside my control.

13.2 The books and sessions are educational materials and professional opinion, offered for instruction and inspiration. I make no representation that using them will produce any particular artistic, commercial or career result.

13.3 Except as expressly stated and so far as the law permits, all implied warranties and conditions are excluded. This does not affect Consumers’ statutory rights.

13.4 Pricing errors. If a product or session is displayed at a manifestly incorrect price through technical or human error, I may correct it and am not obliged to honour it. For e-books, the price at Payhip’s checkout governs.

14. Limitation of liability

14.1 Nothing here excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14.2 Subject to §14.1, I am not liable for loss of profit, business, goodwill, opportunity or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

14.3 Subject to §14.1, my total liability in connection with any purchase or session, however arising, is limited to the amount actually received by me for it.

14.4 For Consumers, §§14.2–14.3 apply only so far as the mandatory law of your country of residence allows.

14.5 I am not liable for the acts, omissions, products, pricing, tax treatment, delivery, data handling or customer service of Payhip, Amazon, IngramSpark, PayPal, Zoom, Google or any other third party.

15. Indemnity (business customers only)

If you are not a Consumer, you will indemnify me against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, in particular any unauthorised copying or distribution of my work.

16. Force majeure

I am not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond my reasonable control, including internet, hosting or power failure, third-party platform outage, cyber-attack, illness, natural disaster, war, civil unrest or government action.

17. Complaints and disputes

Write to contact@peoplephotography.store first. I acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and aim to resolve them within 14 days. For an e-book purchase you may also raise the matter with Payhip as seller of record; for a printed book, with the retailer.

For EU Consumers: the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform was permanently discontinued on 20 July 2025 under Regulation (EU) 2024/3228, and there is no longer any obligation to link to it. You may still refer a dispute to a competent alternative dispute resolution body in your own country. As a trader established outside the EU I am not enrolled with any national ADR scheme, and my participation would be voluntary.

18. General

18.1 Changes. I may amend these Terms. The version in force when you buy or book governs that transaction.

18.2 Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.

18.3 No waiver. Delay in enforcing a right does not waive it.

18.4 Assignment. I may transfer my rights and obligations; you may not transfer yours without my written consent.

18.5 Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and your booking confirmation are the whole agreement between us in respect of anything sold directly by me.

18.6 Relationship with platform terms. Where these Terms conflict with Payhip’s terms in respect of an e-book sale, Payhip’s terms govern that sale, and these Terms continue to govern the licence in §9 and your use of the Site.

18.7 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco, and the courts of Casablanca have jurisdiction. If you are a Consumer resident in the EU or the UK, you retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of your own country’s law and may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.

18.8 Language. These Terms are drafted in English and French. In case of discrepancy, the English version prevails.
