ABOUT THE BOOKS
What exactly are the People Photography books?
They are a three-volume illustrated course on photographing people, covering everything from training your artistic eye to directing a full-body pose. Together they run to 1,116 pages and contain more than 2,600 photographs. Each volume works as a standalone book, and the three build into one complete path from photographer to artist.
Do I need to buy all three, or can I start with one?
You can start with any single volume. The books are numbered but not sequential, so most photographers begin with the one that matches their biggest frustration right now. If you want the full method, the complete collection is available at a lower price than buying the three separately.
Are these books for beginners or professionals?
Both. Beginners get the fundamentals explained from the ground up, with no assumed knowledge and no jargon. Working professionals use them as a reference and a source of structured technique — particularly the posing volume, which is designed to be opened on set. If you already understand aperture and shutter speed, you are ready for these books.
Do I need a professional camera?
No. These books are about seeing, connecting and directing, not about equipment. Everything in Volume I applies equally to a smartphone. Volumes II and III are about the person in front of the lens, not the lens itself.
Are the books about lighting or editing?
Only indirectly. These volumes focus on composition, connection with your subject, and posing. Lighting and retouching are referenced where relevant but are not the subject of the course.
Were the images generated with AI?
No. Every one of the 2,600+ photographs in the collection is a real photograph of a real person, taken on a real shoot. Nothing in these books was generated by artificial intelligence.
Can I see inside before I buy?
Yes. Each book page has a flipbook preview of the first ten pages.
Are the books available in other languages?
The books are available in English and French. The content is identical in both editions.

What e-book formats do you offer?
PDF and EPUB. The PDF preserves the exact page layout and is the best choice for tablets, laptops and desktop screens, where the large photographs are seen at their best.

Which format should I choose?

Use the PDF if you will read mainly on an iPad, computer or large tablet, or if you want to print reference pages. Use the EPUB if you read on a Kindle, Kobo or phone and prefer adjustable text size.

Will the e-books work on my Kindle / iPad / iPhone / Android device?
Yes. The PDF opens on virtually any device with a PDF reader, including Apple Books, Adobe Acrobat and Google Drive. The EPUB works with Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo and most e-readers. For Kindle, use the Send to Kindle service to transfer the file to your device.
How do I receive my e-book after purchase?
Immediately. As soon as your payment is confirmed, a download link appears on the confirmation page and is also sent to the email address you used at checkout. There is nothing to wait for and nothing shipped.
I didn’t receive my download email. What should I do?
First check your spam, promotions and junk folders, as automated delivery emails often land there. If it still hasn’t arrived after 15 minutes, contact me with the email address and approximate time of purchase and I will resend the file personally. You will not be charged twice.
How long is my download link valid, and how many times can I download the file?
Your link is valid for 10 days and allows 6 downloads (18 for bundles), which is enough to save the file to your devices. Once downloaded, the file is yours to keep permanently — I recommend backing it up. If your link expires before you’ve used it, just contact me and I’ll issue a new one (if the time after purchase is reasonable).
How big are the files?
The files are large, because the images are high resolution. Expect roughly 150Mb per volume in PDF and the same size for the EPUB. Download over Wi-Fi rather than mobile data, and make sure you have enough free storage on your device.
Can I print pages from the PDF for personal use?
Yes, printing pages for your own reference or to take on a shoot is fine. Reselling, redistributing or sharing the file is not.
Can I share the e-book with a friend or my team?
Your purchase is a single-user licence for your personal use. Please don’t share, upload or resell the file. If you need copies for a studio team, a school or a workshop group, contact me about bulk pricing — I’m happy to arrange it.
Are the files DRM-protected?
[Standard answer if you use a stamped-PDF setup:] The files are DRM-free, so they open on any device and any app you like. Each copy carries a discreet watermark with the purchaser’s details. I’ve kept it this way deliberately — I’d rather trust readers than make the books awkward to use.

Where do the printed books come from?
The printed editions are produced on demand by Amazon and IngramSpark, two of the largest print networks in the world. When you click a print button on this site you are taken to their store to complete the order there, and they handle printing, shipping and any delivery issues.
Why don’t you sell printed books directly on this site?
Print on demand means your book is printed in the country nearest to you, which keeps shipping fast and affordable and avoids customs charges. It’s the best result for you, even though it means sending you to another site to check out.
What’s the difference between the hardcover and paperback?
The content, page count and image quality are identical. The hardcover has a rigid, more durable binding and lies flatter, which suits a reference book you’ll open repeatedly on set. The paperback is lighter and less expensive.
How long does delivery take, and where do you ship?
Printed books ship worldwide. Because each copy is printed to order, allow [2–5] business days for production plus standard shipping time for your country. Exact delivery estimates and costs are shown by Amazon or IngramSpark at checkout, and their estimate is the accurate one.
Can I track my printed order?
Yes, tracking is provided by the retailer you ordered from. Because those orders are placed on their platform rather than here, I don’t have visibility of them — please use your Amazon or IngramSpark account for tracking and delivery support.
My printed book arrived damaged or misprinted. What do I do?
Contact the retailer you bought from directly, as they handle production and shipping and will replace a defective copy. Do let me know as well, so I can follow it up on the printing side.
Is there a discount if I buy all three printed books?
Yes, the three-book set is offered at a better price than three individual copies. [Confirm and link.]

What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, plus PayPal. No card details are ever stored on this site.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. The site runs on an encrypted HTTPS connection and all payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment provider. I never see or store your card information.
What currency are prices shown in?
Prices are shown in USD. Your bank will convert at its own rate if you pay in another currency.
Will I get an invoice or receipt?
Yes, an itemised receipt is emailed to you automatically.
Do you offer discounts for students or groups?
Yes, get in touch. I offer student pricing and bulk licences for schools, camera clubs and studio teams.
REFUNDS
What is your refund policy on e-books?
Because e-books are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, all digital sales are final once the file has been downloaded. This is standard practice for digital products, and it’s why I give you a flipbook preview. If something is genuinely wrong — a corrupted file, the wrong volume, a duplicate charge — contact me and I’ll fix it or refund you.
What about EU and UK customers’ right of withdrawal?
Consumers in the EU and UK normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on online purchases. For digital content delivered immediately, that right is waived when you tick the consent box at checkout, which is why it appears there. Until you download the file, you can still request a cancellation.
Can I return a printed book?
Printed books are covered by the returns policy of the retailer you ordered from, Amazon or IngramSpark. Their terms apply, and their customer service handles the process.
PHOTO CRITIQUE SESSIONS
What is a photo critique session?
It’s a private, one-to-one video call in which I review your work and give you honest, structured feedback — what’s working, what isn’t, and what will make the biggest difference to your next shoot. It’s the kind of assessment you’d get from an experienced photographer looking at your portfolio with fresh eyes.
How long are the sessions and what do they cost?
There are two options: a 30-minute focused review at $70 and a 60-minute deep-dive at $120, which also covers creative direction, technical choices and where to take your work next. Both are held live on Zoom or Google Meet.
What do I need to send before the session?
At least one week in advance, send a link to a recent shoot or a folder of your best work, plus a short email, voice note or call so I understand where you are and where you want to go. The more context I have, the more useful the session is.
How many images should I submit?
Around 25 images is the sweet spot for a 30-minute session and up to 75 for a 60-minute one. Send a coherent body of work rather than your all-time favourites — recurring patterns are where the real insight lies.
Do I get a recording?
Yes. The full session is recorded and shared with you afterwards, so you can concentrate on the conversation instead of taking notes.
What languages do you work in?
English and French. Choose your preferred language when you book.
Will the feedback be harsh?
It will be honest and uncompromising, but never discouraging. The point is to move your photography forward, not to knock you down. Expect it to be direct, constructive and genuinely enjoyable.
Do I need to have bought the books first?
No, the sessions are open to anyone.
I can offer special discounts for photo critique clients at the end of the session.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes, you can reschedule free of charge up to 48 hours before the session. Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance are fully refunded; after that, the fee is $40.
